Size is in length of entire bracelet including shackle. The shackle pin unscrews to open and close.
Sizing advice: take a string and wrap it around your wrist then measure the length with a ruler and add a 1" to this to get the perfect size.
Note: the rope diameter takes up space so a regular bracelet or watch size is not the correct size for these bracelets. As well the average size for a man is 8".
